One of the surprises of the Roland Garros tournament, tennis player Thiago Wild spoke about the case that has been in court in relation to his ex-wife, Thayane Lima, since the second half of 2021. The athlete is accused by his ex-wife of physical violence, emotional and psychological.
In a statement, Wild highlighted that the trial is in “secret justice”, so he cannot “make statements, comments or conversations, which should also apply to the opposing party”. Furthermore, he has warned that he cannot be pleaded guilty beforehand.
“Above all, I want to remind and reiterate that there was no trial, so I can’t be found guilty,” he said.
Wild said goodbye to the Roland Garros men’s singles draw this Saturday. The Brazilian number 172 in the ranking was defeated by the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, number 33 in the world.

As for the articles and posts published about me during this week, I want to clarify that the ongoing trials in Brazil, as well as a criminal case in which I appear as a victim, are treated under the secrecy of justice. This means that I cannot make statements, comments or expositions of conversations, which should also apply to the other party, according to an injunction issued on 09/16/2021 by the judiciary of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
But above all I want to remember and reiterate that there was no trial, so I can’t be found guilty.
I have not yet received the summons issued by the Justice of Rio de Janeiro as I no longer have a permanent residence in Brazil. I have spent the last few months training in Argentina or competing in other countries. The same happens with the other party, also not mentioned because they are not resident in Brazil. However, my lawyers have already notified the Justice of my parents’ address in Paraná.
Right now I am fully focused on my career, back at the top level of the game and confident that my innocence will be proven in due course.
