Walking Dead: Jeffrey Dean Morgan explains why he was disappointed with the end of the horror series

Currently on the set of The Walking Dead: Dead City, the official spin-off of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan isn’t about to take any liberties with his signature tone.

A few months ago, Negan’s interpreter touched on the series’ production and expressed his disappointment that the spin-off was officially in production before the show’s final episode even aired.

The American actor, certainly not a fan of wooden tongue, now reveals that he was disappointed with the ending of The Walking Dead and, in particular, the end of his character’s story.

Podcast guest Let’s talk about the cameraJeffrey Dean Morgan thus revealed that he was disappointed that Negan had remarried Annie, a new companion introduced during the eleventh and final season of the show.

“We never got to see how she met this person and why she married him, which always left me a little disappointed”he clarified. “Him showing up to a woman without explaining why or how has always been a problem for me.”

Remember that Lucille only appeared in flashbacks in a special episode dressed as Hilary Burton, in addition to another wife, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Which probably explains why the latter was troubled by his character’s second marriage.

His disappointment does not prevent him from appearing in the spin-off Dead City, in the hope that this new series can offer a new ending, this time more satisfying for Negan:

You know that’s what happens when you make a series with thirty main characters. You can’t serve every character the way you want. And I think now, with Dead City, we’ll have answers.

Episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City series are available every Monday exclusively on OCS Choc and the OCS on-demand platform.
