Ridley Scott’s long-awaited Napoleon , which was slated to go live on Apple+ when it was announced, will finally hit theaters on November 22nd.

The official trailer for the feature film, which centers on the Emperor of France, played here by Joaquin Phoenix, has been released on the official website of the South Korean rating agency. Thus, the film will last 157.43 minutes or 2h37.

A duration that does not apply to the director’s previous films, as House of Gucci also lasted 2h37 and The Last Duel, 2h33, while Gladiator, released in 2000, had a duration of 2h35.

This biopic about Napoleon Bonaparte traces his origins and his rise to the title of emperor, seen through the lens of his relationship with his wife Josephine, played by Vanessa Kirby. The cast also includes France’s Tahar Rahim and Ludivine Sagnier.

According to the agency, the feature film will be banned in South Korea due to violence and explicit sexual content for people under the age of 18. But the scale of the classification is not the same as in France, it will be necessary to wait a few more months before the decision of the CNC is known.

Be that as it may, the first return of the feature film is a dithyramb and some are already hailing Ridley Scott’s film as a masterpiece.

When announcing the film’s theatrical release date, Apple said in a statement that the Ridley Scott film: “Offers a personal insight into Napoleon’s origins and his ruthless and rapid rise through the prism of his addictive and explosive relationship with his wife and only love, Josephine.
