- Alexa will become an AI chatbot after a major update
Even though it tightly controls the market for books written by artificial intelligence, the e-commerce giant says it has yet to see a significant increase in the number of such publications. The measures, therefore, would be adopted preventively and would follow the idea that few publishers and authors will be affected by the limitation applied this week.
Amazon is keeping an eye on books written by artificial intelligence
The new rules join other guidelines applied by the store in recent months, such as the obligation to inform that a work was written using artificial intelligence. The idea is to guarantee greater transparency to users and, at the same time, prevent abuse such as plagiarismartificial earnings or attempts to use artificial intelligence to impersonate real authors.
Furthermore, of course, publications made by AI must also follow general content guidelines, which prohibit materials that are copied, protected by copyright, or contain illegal or harmful notices. In this context, Amazon has already removed books written by AI related to drug cultivation or with plagiarized travel advice Youtube and other websites; these removals, however, were not directly linked to the use of the technology.
In the statement, e-commerce also indicates that more rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence in book writing may apply in the future. Amazon said it is actively monitoring the use of technology in the publishing market and is committed to providing the best experience for customers, authors and publishers.
