Live-action adaptation – which producer has not made clear whether it will be a film or series – is still in the early stages
CD Projekt Red announced this Thursday (5) that its game Cyberpunk 2077released in 2020, will receive a live-action adaptation (via IGN). The label signed a partnership with Anonymous Content, producer of the series True Detective (2014), MrRobot (2015), 13 Reasons Why (2017) and the film Spotlight: Secrets Revealed (2015).
So far, the producer has not specified whether the production will be a film or a series, but stressed that it is still in the early stages of development, and is looking for a screenwriter to “tell an unprecedented story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077”.
It is worth remembering that the game world has already been explored in the anime Cyberpunk: Mercenariesproduced and released by Netflix.
The game Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
