In 1977, actor Hampton Fancher bought the rights for a modest sum. If he’s going to bring it to the screen for the first time, producer Michael Dille, who recently won five Oscars for Journey to the End of Hell, is thinking of Ridley Scott instead. Then the latter agreed to entrust Dune, on which he was working, to David Lynch, so that he could devote himself to this project, called Blade Runner.

Set in 2019 Los Angeles, the story follows Rick Deckard, an ex-cop who returns to work on a group of replicants – androids created in the image of humans to enslave them.

Ever since his 1979 horror film teleported to the middle of space with his terrifying alien, Ridley Scott has created a sci-fi classic that is captivating, dreamlike and entertaining, mixed with a philosophical reflection on the concept of humanity.

Worn by Harrison Ford, Blade Runner Establishes itself as an aesthetic cue thanks to its film noir-inspired atmosphere, iconic electronic music composed by Vangelis, and special effects created by genre master Douglas Trumbull, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work.
