A new Vasco will face Flamengo this Sunday, at 4pm, at the Maracanã. After all, the team will take the field with eight changes among the starters compared to the defeat suffered in the first leg of the Brazilian championship. The only ones who withstood the terrible results and remained in good spirits were goalkeeper Léo Jardim, defender Léo and winger Lucas Piton.
For the rest there are new names in all sectors. Five of them, in fact, arrived during the mid-year transfer market and made their debut in the derby against their historic rivals. Among the cases are Medel, returned from the Chilean national team, Praxedes, on loan from Bragatino, Paulinho, purchased from Al Shabab-SAU, the French Payet, the main signing, and the top scorer Pablo Vegetti.
Interestingly, coach Ramón Díaz, who took over in July, found other solutions in the team itself. This is because Paulo Henrique took advantage of opportunities in place of Puma, on the right flank, and Zé Gabriel surprised with consistent performances in the centre. In addition to them, Gabriel Pec is back as a starter, having only entered at the end of the first round.
