ENM performance: Bahia loses due to defensive failures and ends their winning streak

Bahia performs poorly in a match in Minas Gerais and loses a direct match against Cruzeiro 3×0, in the 29th round of the Brazilian Championship.

Tricolor visited Cruzeiro for the 29th round of the Brazilian Championship, in a direct clash at the bottom of the table, this Wednesday (25th). With many defensive failures, Bahia ended up defeated 3-0, in Mineirão, and stopped at 34 points, 14th place. There are four points for Vasco, the top team in Z4, who are still playing in the group.

With the return of Rezende, Rogério Ceni was able to choose the team closest to what he considers ideal in the Squadron. The only absence considered a starter was that of Vitor Hugo, who, with a cut on his head, gave way to Raul Gustavo. The team returns to the 4-4-2, with Cauly providing the attack formed by Biel and Everaldo. Thaciano floated a lot, with more freedom in Bahia’s midfield. Cauly was injured in the first half and it’s worrying.

The first goal of the match came from a cross from the right by Matheus Pereira, which Kanu, also blocked by Raul Gustavo, ended up touching into his own goal, in the 19th minute of the first half. Cruzeiro resolved the match in the second half with Marlon, in the eighth minute. The full-back misses the cross, but Marcos Felipe ends up pushing the ball into the goal. In the 43rd minute, Bruno Rodrigues closed out the victory after a collective failure by Bahia’s defence.
