Starring Eddie Redmayne, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise was not as successful with audiences and critics as Harry Potter

A few years after the end of the adaptation of the Harry Potterin 2016, the franchise created by J.K. Rowling got the first derivative in theaters: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. However, after the third film, the new saga was not as successful as the original, both among audiences and critics.

During podcast interview Inside Total Film (via GamesRadar), the director David Yates talked about the current state of films starring Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Katherine Waterston (Porpentina Scamander), Dan Fogler (Jacob) It is Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone).

“With Animals, everything is parked. We made these three films, the last one during a pandemic, and it was a lot of fun but difficult,” he stated. “We were actually filming when there was no vaccine. Fortunately, no one got sick, but we had the most detailed protocols in place.”

We are all very proud of [Animais Fantásticos: Os Segredos de Dumbledore, de 2022] and when it was released into the world, we just needed to stop and take a break, and take it easy. The idea that there would be five films came as a surprise to most of us.

“[J. K. Rowling] only mentioned it spontaneously once at a press screening. Nobody told us there would be five, we committed to the first,” the filmmaker continued. “I’m sure at some point we’ll be back. But yes, I didn’t talk to JoeI didn’t talk to the [produtor] David Heyman, I have not spoken to Warner Bros.; we’re just taking a break. It’s great.”
