Fortnite Root Season attracts more than 44 million players

Epic Games announced that it was the biggest day in the history of the game

Epic Games celebrated the launch of Raiz Season on its social networks in Fortnite last weekend, deemed the game’s “biggest day in history” with over 44.7 million players and 102 million hours played.

Root Season brought back the beloved original map from the game’s first season, along with classic weapons and items. Over the course of this season, each weekly update will bring a different step from the Battle Royale’s past, starting with Chapter 1 Season 5.

Understand better how it will work:

  • v27.00 Edit – Season 5: Return to Crooked Towers and collect weapons, traps and vehicles introduced in the original fifth season. This is also the return of the items that were in the vault, such as the supermarket carts, the off-road kart, the damaged trap, the Unclipper and the boogie-woogie bomb, as well as other weapons.
  • Changed version 27.00 on November 9th – Season 6: The darkness resurfaces in Loot Lake. Season 6’s scary and wonderful items are back, including the quad jet, mounted turret, six-shooter, sticky gun and more.
  • Fix for version 27.10 on November 16th – Seasons 7 and 8: polar temperatures are back. Destroy enemies with the Storm
  • Fix for version 27.11 on November 23 – Seasons 9 and
  • Classic outfit time: With the root season also comes a root pass and item shop. The Root Pass contains 50 new in-game items and all cosmetic items can be unlocked in just 4 weeks. The Raiz Item Shop includes a special selection of new, mixed and classic items that will be added every day at 8pm (Brasilia time)

Fortnite’s Root update lasts four weeks and it is estimated that the original map will be removed at the end of the season, but given its huge success, perhaps Epic will reconsider this decision.

Fortnite is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Android devices.
