“One of the best Hunger Games ever,” “phenomenal casting”… US press raves about 5th movie!

A week before the theatrical release of The Hunger Games, the prequel to the dystopian saga of The Ballad of the Snake and the Bird, directed by Jennifer Lawrence, American journalists have published their first thoughts.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, already at the helm of the first film franchise, the feature film is also adapted from a novel by Susan Collins. The Ballad of the Snake and the Song takes place 64 years before Katniss’s (Lawrence) first film and tells the story of the fearsome President Snow’s (Donald Sutherland) youth.

Young Coriolanus (played by Tom Blyth) is the last hope of his lineage. The Snow family, once rich and proud, has now fallen from grace in the post-war Capitol.

As the 10th Hunger Games approaches, he is reluctantly tasked with mentoring Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zeigler), a tribute from District 12, the poorest and most hated of Panem.

With Lucy Gray’s charms captivating the public, Snow sees an opportunity to change their fate and join forces with her to turn fate in their favor. Torn between good and evil against his instincts, Snow races against time to survive and discover whether he will eventually become a songbird or a snake.

The record-breaking film focuses on the youth of the most hated character in the $3 billion saga. Did Francis Lawrence succeed in making Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Baird lovers? young actors Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler Do they live up to fan expectations? Are villains Viola Davis and Peter Dinklage as scary as the president of Panem?

The press is visibly excited about the prequel! Scott Mendelsohn, from the site transfer writing: “The new Hunger Games is really great. Superbly constructed and delightfully acted, it tackles the franchise’s difficult pop culture legacy and thrives as a “money-screen” Imax blockbuster. “Zegler is a real movie star, and Davis is a macabre and funny character.”

From the Russ Milheim site Direct In turn, he is delighted with the casting and the series: “The Last Hunger Games is fantastic. It’s an incredibly faithful adaptation whose minor changes actively improve on the original material (especially Act 3). The entire cast is phenomenal and the world of Panem is perfectly realized thanks to the flawless production design.

Journalist Eric Davis, who works Rotten tomatoes and Fandango SInterspersed with a lengthy analysis in which he compares the prequel to the second part of the Hunger Games saga: Catching Fire.

“I really enjoyed the new Hunger Games movie – right up there with Catching Fire as the best movie in the series. The story is solid, I loved the twists and turns. Great action sequences, character development and world expansion, but the real star is the casting.”

Rachel Zegler really shines in this movie

Rachel Zegler really shines in this movie. Her character, Lucy Grey, is very different from Katniss, and the tense and twisted dynamic between Lucy and Tom Blyth’s Coriolanus is something to behold.

Viola Davis and Peter Dinklage are really strong and very believable. Davis’s character, in particular, is very cunning and very beautiful to watch.” He continues.

Finally, he concludes, “II didn’t know what to expect with #BalladOfSongbirdsAndSnakes, but I wish everyone involved well. It’s a good, entertaining film that’s suitable for both long-time Hunger Games fans and those new to the franchise. I recommend without hesitation!

And finally, David Gonzalez, Dan Cinematographic reelHe also praises the prequel: “Hunger Games offers movie lovers a favorable fortune. A gritty and challenging return to the franchise, full of stellar action, dark comedy and exceptional performances.

Rachel Zegler impresses with her brilliant voice, while Tom Blythe charms with his morals, which deteriorate as the villainous Coriolanus Snow emerges. One of the best films in the franchise so far!

Because the entire difficulty of this film is managing to make Corionel Snow, the prequel hero, likable while showing the double face of a man who would become one of the most iconic villains of 2000s cinema.

Divided into 3 acts – like a novel – the film shows the full complexity of the character and how the latter, initially attractive, turns out to be perverted and toxic.

And viewers who haven’t seen the first films aren’t missing out, as this review from Eric Italiano shows. Bro Bible : “I had never seen a Hunger Games movie before ‘The Ballad of the Serpent and the Chanter,’ and I loved it!” Very long but still well paced, charming story, Zegler is a superstar, music is great.

Amazingly violent too! It’s also pretty cool that I didn’t realize this was a bad guy movie until there was only an hour left.”

Reviews also praise the vocal performance of Rachel Zegler, who performs several songs throughout the film, especially the famous song that Katniss sang ten years ago.The Hanging Man Tree“.

First rave reviews for this feature film that could be the first part of a trilogy. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Snake and the Bird It hits our theaters on November 15.
