Author of the Libertadores title goal for Fluminense, John Kennedy entered the field last Saturday (4), at the Maracanã, with the belief that he would make history with the tricolor shirt. After leaving the bench, the striker was accurate in his shot, which gave the Rio club an unprecedented cup. Days earlier, the hero had prophesied what would happen in the decision by sending two audios to one of his managers stating that he would become an idol at just 21 years old.
“I’m not anxious, man. I’m the one who will decide the match (sic). Damn, black boy, you’re in your head, brother. When I say I’m going to score the goal, I get goosebumps… That shit , the goal is mine. It’s a matter of time. The final is a matter of honor, the goal is mine, the goal is mine. The goal for the title is mine. to become the idol of this son of a whore at age 21,” John Kennedy said in the leaked audio.
This Monday (6), number 9 participated in Globo Esporte, on TV Globo, and confirmed that the audio circulating on social media is true. Furthermore, the striker described the feeling after scoring the title goal at the Maracanã and how he turned his season around. In this sense, John began the year on loan at Ferroviária, in Araraquara, relegated from the Campeonato Paulista.
“This audio is true. I’m very happy, it’s a unique feeling, I have no words to describe what I feel. Starting the year on a low note and ending it the way I am now. I can’t describe doing it,” he admitted.

Confident and decisive
The player also participated in the program ‘Seleção, SporTV’ and said that he was thinking about the goal while preparing for the final. In this way, the athlete was confident that he would make the difference, something that was reiterated by Fernando Diniz, a few minutes before entering the field.
I think it’s my way of having confidence in what I can do. I think when I trained there during the week I was already preparing well. And I thought I would score the goal. Several other people also asked me and I was very calm. I thought a lot about how I wanted to score this goal. And I was confident that I would score the goal. Therefore I was very calm, without anxiety. I think the anxiety hit me a little on the bus. Even after my arrival at the Maracanã it was over and I was ready for the match,” he explained.
