He is undoubtedly the most fascinating character in Un si grand soleil. Over the seasons, Christophe (Hubert Benhamdin) established himself as the iconic character of the France 2 daily soap opera.
A father, a caring husband and a professional veterinarian, nothing at first suggested that Kristoff would become a serial killer who was as methodical as he was ruthless.
His first victim? Patrice Engel, whom he killed during an undercover operation in September 2022. But it was by killing Eva Engel, the wife of his first target, who threatened to kill Achille (Mathieu Rodríguez) and Cécile (Marie-Gael Kals), that Christophe. He descended into horror when he became the serial killer we know today.
Since then, his list of victims has grown with the murders of Ziggy’s owner, Regis Tresson, Pedro Morel, and most recently, Obert.
Convinced that he had been assigned a divine mission, the vet set out to eliminate all criminals who escaped justice. From now on, Christoph continues his mission with enthusiasm and for the moment there is no indication that the florist will one day stop…

“For me, the founding event is probably Johanna’s betrayal (Aurore Delplace). Maybe it’s because of him” he explains before continuing, “It all started when he was waiting for a heart transplant and his wife cheated on him with Ludo (Folco March), his best friend.“.
and added, “I believe there was a change in that moment from which he never recovered. Everything that happened next was just a slide. But this is inseparable from the fact that he believes that he has been insulted. And then, he just spread that reasoning to the whole city…“.
This is enough to better understand the construction of this extraordinary character. Now it remains to be seen what will be his downfall in Un si grand soleil.
