Microsoft wants to bring Xbox Game Pass to every screen possible, including competitors PlayStation and Nintendo
In a Q&A session during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, Xbox Chief Financial Officer Tim Stuart revealed that Microsoft plans to bring Xbox Game Pass to as many screens as possible, including competing consoles PlayStation and Nintendo.
Tim stressed that this isn’t a broad announcement, but rather a reinforcement of Xbox’s mission to bring Game Pass services to every screen that supports games. This also applies to past competitors such as PlayStation e Nintendo.
“And again, we’re not announcing anything in general here, but our mission is to bring our proprietary experiences, our subscription services to every screen that can support a… that can play a game. That means smart TV, that means mobile devices.” devices, i.e. those that in the past we would have considered competitors, such as PlayStation and Nintendo. We’re going to go to NVIDIA, GeForce NOW, their game subscription service” said Tim Stuart.
Furthermore, Tim emphasized that the purchase of Activison will help in this process, since it will be possible to reach a new audience through the company’s games, which have popular games in all branches. Some examples are call of Duty, World of Warcraft AND Candy Crushwhere they come from Activision, Blizzard AND King!, respectively.
