The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us” will debut in 2025. This is what a new teaser, released by Max (formerly HBO Max in the USA), shows. In addition to confirming the date, the video offered a look at what’s coming to the streaming catalog in 2024.

The series’ highly anticipated second season premiere comes after showrunner Craig Mazin revealed that production will begin on February 12, 2024, later than originally planned due to the country’s actors’ and writers’ strike.
The next season of The Last of US will be set a few years after the first. It will likely be an adaptation of the game “The Last of Us Part II”, which will receive a remastered version for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024.
Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will return. As for the role of Abby Anderson, the antagonist of the sequel, someone has already been cast for the role – but the name of the mysterious actress is not yet known.
What else is coming to HBO Max
In addition to the second season of “The Last of Us”, the teaser published by Max showed images of “Euphoria”, “The White Lotus”, “And Just Like That” and “Welcome to Derry”, the series whose story takes placed ahead of Stephen King’s “It” – all due out in 2025.
As for what will arrive on streaming in 2024, Max announced: “The Penguin” (spin-off of “The Batman”), “Segura a Onda”, “Tokyo Vice” and “Hacks”.
Finally, the teaser also showed scenes from the second season of “A Casa do Dragão” – the trailer of which debuted at CCXP23. The premiere of the new season of the “Game of Thrones” spin-off is scheduled for the American summer (between June and September).
Speaking of the jewel of the HBO Max catalogue, George RR Martin – author of the books on which the series is based – talks about the third and fourth seasons of the spin-off. In his most recent post on his personal blogMartin says he worked with the show’s writers on both seasons during a recent trip to London.
