It all starts here on Monday January 1st…

A cold in the institute

Early in the morning, all the students wake up frozen. At first they think it’s a power outage, but it’s actually Antoine who’s responsible. And for good reason, the deputy director of the institute decided to lower the heating to 17 degrees to reduce the carbon footprint. That’s not all, he plans to add a timer to every shower.

When he discovers the anger this lapse in energy arouses in his comrades, Suleiman warns his father: if he wants his approach to be accepted by everyone, he must first set an example. For a young man, this necessarily implies a change in his father’s behavior. No more imported coffee and chocolate from faraway countries, or packaging from the other side of the world. Antoine promises his son that in 2024 he will be ecologically flawless. But it’s too much for Vicky. After some thought, the young woman seemed to find a way to sway Antoine. So what is his idea?

Maddy is disappointed

For Maddie, the beginning of 2024 comes with good news. Indeed, Rose has just reported that one of her friends runs a school catering company in the area. He is interested in the young man’s project and will attend a short presentation in the afternoon. Maddy did not expect such a statement, the stress is rising. Livio and Hortense try to comfort her, telling her that her cooking is great, but she shouldn’t be afraid of comments.

The fateful moment of the tasting has come. The manager tastes Maddy’s vegetable spaghetti dish, but is suddenly unconvinced. He explains to the young chef that this recipe is too sophisticated for children: “We are very far from what I expect.” He leaves the room without saying a word. Maddy is extremely disappointed. A few minutes later, he finds Hortense and Livio in the territory of the institute and tells them the bad news. His wife and friend advise him not to give up and to offer his project to other school canteens.

The end of the Clotilda-Joachim couple?

Mark and Clotilde invite all students to discover a new module: “Extreme Cooking”. objective? Give them food in extreme conditions or unusual places to push them out of their comfort zone. This module is optional and open to all classes, but only six lucky people will be selected by lottery.

Most students are attracted to this idea. Jim and Jasmine discover that they both want to be involved, but the young woman is not ready to spend time with Jim, given her feelings for him. He is angry with her because now she will find herself in a difficult situation. For her part, Deva wants to participate in the module to win David back.

Joachim meets Clotilda at the Institute and asks her why she is doing everything to avoid a serious discussion with her. In response, Clotilda promises to discuss the issue of motherhood after the day’s work is over, but Joachim does not believe her. A few minutes later, Mark and Clotilde meet for the raffle. The lucky six are Jasmine, Jimmy, David, Deva, Lionel and Penelope. Mark uses this moment to ask his colleague if he has finally spoken to Joachim. Clotilda replies that she is afraid to discuss the subject with Joachim, but that if he does not give up his desire to have children, she will surely have to leave him.

At the end of the cooking class, Clotilda is unexpectedly visited by Joachim. Angry, he asks directly in the eyes: “What am I to you?” A hobby?”. Feeling trapped, Clotilde raises her voice and admits to him that she has had enough of pressuring him. Faced with her partner’s reaction, Joachim realizes that their relationship is not meant to last. He replies that he will take her things when she is gone.
