Back to black, a biopic based on the life of British singer and songwriter Amy Winehouse, received its first official trailer this Thursday (11). The film, which focuses on the album Back to Black (2006), will be released in UK cinemas on 12 April.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (50 shades of Grey), Back to black is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, precisely because it deals with the life of one of the greatest pop singers in the world.
Almost 13 years after her death, Winehouse continues to be a reference on the music scene, perpetuating herself as an important figure for the female music industry.
Her songs, a retro soul style with tragic lyrics about love and full of personality, continue to be among the most listened to on YouTube: in 2021, a report from G1 revealed that at least 10 of the singer’s hits were being played daily on the platform. Three sounds from the Back to Black album, of course, were at the top of the list.
Written by Matt Greenhalgh (The boy from Liverpool), Back to black will be released in UK cinemas on 12 April. There is no information on the launch in Brazil.
