In April last year, Warner Bros. Discovery has revealed that a series based on the beloved Wizarding World of Harry Potter will see the light of day on its Max streaming service.
According to Deadline, things seem to be coming to fruition as screenwriters are currently vying for the rights to adapt seven of JK Rowling’s books by pitching their ideas to the studio.
Martha Hillier (The Last Kingdom), Kathleen Jordan (Teenage Bounty Hunters, The Decameron), Tom Moran (The Devil’s Hour) and Michael Leslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and Songbird, The Little Drummer Girl) part. Those who present their views on this new series indicate the sources of the publication. It’s an interesting mix of British and American screenwriters who have been commissioned by the Max platform to create pitches for the series that reflect their vision of the famous intellectual property.

The first round of interviews was to be held in Los Angeles this week and sources indicated that the best would move on to the next round in the UK. It is not known how much the author is Harry Potter, RowlingThe Edinburgh, Scotland native has been involved in the process, but is expected to be involved in the decision, of which he is an executive producer.

A series that should last 10 years
According to Deadline, the possibility will be open to several screenwriters, especially since Max wants to develop more than one idea, the series should last 10 years on the platform. Indeed, each novel will be a season, giving a total of seven seasons to look forward to.
