Kenneth Mitchell has died: The Star Trek and Captain Marvel actor was 49

Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell died on February 24 at the age of 49. He was known to “Trekkies” for his role as Kol (among other characters) on Star Trek Discovery. He also voiced the TV series Star Trek: Lower Decks and played Carol Danvers’ father in the Captain Marvel flashback.

Deadline The actor’s family published the information on Instagram, in which they announced:

“Five and a half years have passed since Ken faced various complications with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, editor’s note). any time.”

The Startrek.com website also paid tribute to him:

“With Cole on Discovery, Mitchell hoped to give fans a new look at Klingon culture. ‘Being a good person or a bad person is a perspective, it’s all about understanding that culture,'” he said. Then people have to decide if they’re really bad guys.”

After several small screen appearances, Mitchell made her film debut in 2003 in The Recruit opposite Al Pacino and Colin Farrell before moving on to Gavin O’Connor’s Miracle with Kurt Russell (2004). He then starred in the TV series Jericho from 2006 to 2008.

After guest appearances in FBI – Missing, Hawaii 5-0, Criminal Minds, CSI, Castle, Bones, NCIS: Special Investigations, Frequency, Nancy Drew or Mentalist, Mitchell takes on the role of Joseph Danvers, the father of Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson. In Captain Marvel.
