Namor Recast Will Be an ‘Underwater Game of Thrones’

The next Namor miniseries is like an underwater Game of Thrones, and promises to permanently redefine Atlantis

It’s been a while since wonder The comics can’t stand Namor anymore and are trying a reformulation, not only of the character himself, but also of Atlântida, which is one of the publisher’s most important kingdoms and which has been treated very poorly lately. According to information provided by the responsible author, the eight-issue miniseries can now be called “game of Thrones underwater”.

Jason Aaron spoke Meetings n.1 in a recent interview on the Marvel website and compared the comic, which will be drawn by Paul Davidson and Alex Lins, with his previous work on Thor AND Punisher: After recognizing Namor’s dark side, he believes the change in the character’s morality has left him in a dark place; and he suggests that this is one of the reasons he abandons Atlantis.

The writer said that this brings together seven different tribes and kingdoms to decide who will take control of the throne, while readers will also find out what ended Atlantis in the first place. Aaron mentioned the different worlds Namor travels through: mutant, avenger, Atlantean, and king.

The throne of Atlantis is Namor’s birthright. He spared no effort to protect her, as well as the entire underwater world; and the idea that she has turned her back on both of them is shocking. The writer didn’t talk about it, but said that he will find himself in an earthly prison when he begins his new journey, with no desire to return to live underwater.

Deal Submarinehe’s one of Marvel’s oldest heroes, and you could even say he was the first, right from the start The golden age of comics. He was also Marvel’s first mutant, however, over time, his surly and petulant attitude undermined his charisma among readers.

After crossing the Silver Age and affiliated with the Avengers and the X-Men, Namor was already so far removed from his original fans and younger readers that, even though he changed completely in the second Black Panther film, many people didn’t even care. And now it’s time for its recovery: here we are rooting for it to work.
