Warming up the engines for launch, Planet of the Apes: Reign won a new final trailer on Tuesday (30). The sequel, which will serve as a prelude to the previous trilogy, will be set 300 years after the era of Caesar (Andy Serkis), bringing with it new characters and a new leader: Noa (Owen Teague).
Starting a new chapter in the Apes’ trajectory, the sequel will also feature Kevin Durand as Proximus César, the franchise’s new villain. In addition to him, the cast also includes Freya Allan (The witcher), William Macy (Fargo), Eka Darville (Jessica Jones) and Lydia Peckham (Cowboy bebop).
The Planet of the Apes franchise
It is worth noting that although the films most remembered by The Planet of the Apesand who revitalized the franchise, be it the 2011 reboots (The origin), 2014 (The fight) and 2017 (War), the originals are much older, having been released from 1968 onwards.
In total, there are nine films: five major feature films, a single 2001 remake, directed by Tim Burton (and it didn’t do well), and the new reboot trilogy that began in 2011.
