Before Fast and Furious 11, Vin Diesel will return to the iconic sci-fi saga!

French director Louis Leterrier announced yesterday that Fast & Furious 11 will not begin filming until early 2025, pushing back the release date.

If the director is set to make the horror film 11817 this summer, Vin Diesel will be teaming up with another of his iconic characters before filming the latest adventure in the $7.3 billion motorized franchise.

Vin Diesel will definitely begin shooting Riddick: Furya on August 26. The American actor will thus return to the role of galactic anti-hero Riddick for the fourth installment of the sci-fi franchise, which offered him his first major film role.

The feature film, announced in February 2023, is directed by David Toohey, who has already worked on previous opus: Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Riddick in 2013.

With a budget of 23 million, Pitch Black only made 53 million at the international box office. Released 4 years later, The Chronicles of Riddick cost $105 million to make because the film was big, but only grossed $115 million. However, in 2013, Vin Diesel bought the rights to the franchise and released Riddick. With a budget of 38 million, this third installment brings in 98 million dollars internationally.

Although these films were commercial and critical failures upon release, they have nevertheless acquired cult film status over the years. So much so that the fourth part was finally announced.

shooting of Riddick: Fury It will be held in Germany, Spain and Great Britain at the end of summer. We still don’t know anything about the rest of the cast.

In the feature film, which Diesel and Twohy have been developing since 2014, Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and which he imagines has been left in ruins by necromongers. But there he meets other Furians who are fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of them are more like Riddick than he ever imagined.
