The Game of Thrones derivative gets a director and a new title

The new prequel series game of Thrones, The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Knight Errant (A Knight of the Seven Kingdom: The Hedge Knight) finally has a director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Owen Harris, director of the San Junipero episode of Black mirrorwill direct the first three episodes of the series.

The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms was announced in April 2023 by HBO after the stream officially merged with Discovery, a change that rebranded its streaming service to Max.

The production will take place 100 years before the events of GoT and will focus on the story of two characters, Ser Duncan the Tall (future Lord Commander of the Kingsguard) and his squire Egg (future King Aegon V Targaryen) — also known as Dunks and eggs.

A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros: a young, naive but brave knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in a time when the Targaryen lineage still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet faded from living memory, great destinies, powerful enemies, and dangerous deeds await these unlikely and incomparable friends.

Recently the production also chose its two protagonists: Peter Claffey (recently seen in the series Family evil) will be the knight Duncan and Dexter Soll Ansel (the young Coriolanus Snow from The Hunger Games: Song of Birds and Serpents) will be your egg squire.
