An elderly man, aged 60, was brutally attacked by a man after scolding him for irregular waste disposal, in the Cajuru neighbourhood, in Curitiba (PR). The crime occurred on the 9th, but the police released the images of the attack only on Thursday (16th).
Although the motivation is not fully confirmed, the police believe that the beating occurred because the elderly man had asked the suspect not to throw rubbish into the street. Furthermore, the victim claimed that he did not know the perpetrator.
“It was a violent and excessive attack that caused the elderly man to partially lose his sight. [suspeito] he is under investigation for grievous bodily harm and the sentence could reach up to eight years in prison. We are now trying to identify the perpetrator,” said delegate Wallace de Oliveira Brito B band.
A security camera recorded the episode, which was also witnessed by other people passing by on the street at the time. In the video the victim appears to have been attacked with punches, kicks and a piece of wood.
The Civil Police asks the population for information useful for identifying the suspect. Complaints can be submitted anonymously by calling 197 or 181 on the Hotline.
