New franchise based on the book by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King, will feature the return of Ethan Hawke and more names from the first film
The Black Phone 2sequel to the horror released in 2022, based on the novel of the same name by Joe Hillson of Stephen King, had its premiere postponed. Previously scheduled to hit theaters on June 27th, the film was pushed to October 17th of the same year. The information is from Variety.
The Black Phone takes place in 1978 and follows a series of kidnappings in the city of Denver, in the United States, linked to a figure known as Kidnapper (Ethan Hawke, Moon Knight). The serial killer targets children in the region and makes his next victim a 13-year-old boy named Finney Shaw (Mason Thames, How to Train Your Dragon).
The boy is held hostage in a basement that has only a bed and a black telephone. Every time the device rings, he can hear the voices of the latest victims of the attack. Kidnapper, which try to help you not suffer the same fate as them. Check out the trailer:
The new film will feature the returns of Ethan Hawke It is Mason Thamesin addition to Madeleine McGraw (American sniper), Jeremy Davies (Lost) and the newcomer Miguel Mora. Scott Derricksonwho co-wrote and directed the first film, will continue at the helm of the franchise for the second film. C. Robert Cargillco-responsible for the script The Black Phonewill once again collaborate with the filmmaker on the new chapter of the story.
