He leaves the NYPD after three seasons, but the show doesn’t welcome his departure!

He left the series and you might not know it because his departure was not welcomed! Indeed, after playing Lt. Kate Dixon for three seasons, Camryn Manheim was left voiceless in the final episode of Season 23, which aired on May 16. Apparently, the NYPD didn’t see fit to say goodbye to his character – unlike Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston), who also recently departed the series.

Instead of a proper tribute, the episode focused on Tony Goldwyn’s character, Prosecutor Nicholas Baxter, while Lt. Kate Dixon was barely there. There was no hint during the episode that he left.

Camryn Manheim Joined the series as Kate Dixon in the first episode of season 21 and played the character in 45 episodes, in addition to appearing in the same role in two episodes of SVU New York (2022 and 2023) as well as an episode of New. York: Organized Crime (2023). He also played three different small roles in seasons 1, 3 and 4 New York Judicial Police – The total number of its episodes in the series increased to 48. In the show, Kate Dixon was then the commander of the 27th Precinct of Manhattan’s North Homicide Squad.

The only time the actor’s departure was mentioned in a statement to Deadline.

I would like to thank Camryn for three great seasons helping us relaunch New York Law Enforcement. He has a lot of class and I wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter.,” shared series and franchise creator Dick Wolf in a press release.

It’s unclear who will take over Keith Dixon’s helm in season 24. Before that, it was Anita Van Buren, played by S. Epatta Merkerson (who is currently starring in another series. Dick WolfChicago Med), who was the big boss.

Goodbye, Lieutenant Dixon? Apparently, yes. Thanks for the service.
