This absolutely iconic sci-fi saga had its own animated series, but everyone has forgotten about it!

We’re not going to insult you and tell you again how absolutely iconic the Back to the Future movie saga is; Even a transgenerational success that has entered the pantheon of pop culture widely. What you probably don’t know is that the characters of Doc & Marty have been far from worship since the animated series was born!

In 1990, after Back to the Future 3, the adventures of Marty and Doc continued in the animated series. Created by Bob Gale, co-creator of the trilogy, split into two seasons of 13 episodes that aired in France in 1993. Neither did Michael J. Neither Foxx nor Christopher Lloyd double their character in this series, Mary Steenburgen (Clara) does. ) and Thomas F. Wilson (Biff Tannen) are back.

Episodes open and end with live-action sequences as Doc (Lloyd) introduces the episode and helps wrap it up, while Bill Nye (comedian and scientist) provides an informative and entertaining science experiment.

The series actually picks up where the 3rd film in the saga ends. Emmett Brown now lives in Hill Valley with his wife Clara and children Jules and Verne. The DeLorean can now travel through space, allowing episodes to be set anywhere in the world that was not in the movies.

We specifically learn that Marty’s middle name is Seamus, a character we saw in Back to the Future 3. However, it is considered unofficial and takes place in the parallel universe of the films.

The series was canceled after 26 episodes, probably due to a change in tone between the two seasons. We feel that the series is trying to reach a more childish audience, offering less original storylines and limiting time travel.

Back to the Future: The Animated Series will itself have a sequel, in comics, thanks to two mini-series published by Harvey Comics, written by Dwayne Macduff and drawn by Nelson Dewey.
