Felipe and Matheus performed at Expoara, an agricultural fair in Araguaína, Tocantins, but reported that no one showed up
The musicians Felipe Botelho Santos and Matheus Franceschini, who form the the country duo Felipe and Matheus, they experienced an unexpected situation during a show in the city of Araguaína, in Tocantins: they went up to perform on an empty stage. The artists then posted a video and account of the situation on Instagram.
The duo was supposed to perform at 5pm at an event entitled 1st Sunset Bruto, last Thursday, the 30th, as part of Expoara 2024, the Araguaína Agricultural Fair. To enter it was necessary to bring 1 kg of food.
On the duo’s Instagram, Felipe posted a video of the moment with a story: “At the opening of the show I got goosebumps. A few minutes before the start, Matheus told me: ‘Soon we will be so successful that he won’t.’ Don’t let people see us.” I was strong, but after that speech I had to hold back, because it’s not easy. Let’s live our dream with lots of love and remain steadfast and strong.
In an interview with G1, the musicians gave more details about what happened: “We waited until about 7pm. Nobody showed up and we said, ‘Let’s start later’. Everyone went home and when it was 9pm we came back, and no one was there.” They started the show in the hope that the music would attract visitors, but the situation did not improve.
