Bad Boys 4 exceeds expectations and reaches the top of the US box office

Bad Boys : All the way, the fourth sequel in the series that began in the 90s, hit theaters last Thursday (6) and proved that the duo formed by the iconic detectives Mike Lowery (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) is more alive than ever . The film grossed $56 million in its debut and hit a weekend high.

Again directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Bad Boys : All the way it is a direct sequence of Bad Boys 3 (2020) — the film reached $426.5 million at the worldwide box office, being one of the last box office hits before the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also the highest-grossing entry in the series and the biggest January release of all time.

The first Bad guys it grossed $141 million globally and won fans around the world thanks to its comedic tone and barrage of action scenes. Bad Boys 2of 2003, grossed 273 million dollars at the box office, showing a subtle rise which, only after a 17-year break, was consolidated in a new sequel (the one in 2020).

While Bad guys shows the strength of a franchise that is more than 20 years old, Mad Max suffers from a decline in popularity. Angry, a new film starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, failed to meet revenue expectations, becoming the franchise’s worst debut in nearly 30 years. Directed by George Miller, the prequel to Mad Max: Road Fury (2015) earned just $25.5 million, far less than the expected $40 million.
