Did you like the John Wick saga? Did you like Bullet Train? Did you like Monkey Man with Dev Patel? Then Kill is for you!
In this action film, Amrit, a soldier, finds that his great love Tulika is being held against his will. He boards a train to New Delhi to thwart this arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by a ruthless Fani starts terrorizing innocent passengers, Amrit takes it upon himself to fight to the death to save those around him, transforming an ordinary ride into an adrenaline rush.
Set mostly on a train, this Indian film is directed by Nikhil Bhatt and stars newcomers Laksh Lalwan, Raghav Jual, Tanya Maniktala and Abhishek Chauhan. Making its world premiere at this year’s Toronto Film Festival as part of the Midnight Madness selection, Kill has been acquired by Lionsgate, which will distribute the film in the United States on July 4. A release date in France has not yet been scheduled.
Lauren Bixby, vice president of acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate, said of the film:The American public is more open than ever to cinematic bravery from the four corners of the globe. We were blown away by Kill and taken back by the mastery of director Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt. We’re sure Kill will find an audience ready for the sheer mayhem of this film“.
While I wait to see if Kill will be released in our cinemas, the summer will be rich with action films in French cinemas Elyas (July 3), Deadpool & Wolverine (July 24), Largo Winch: The Price of Silver (July 31), Borderlands (August 7), City of Darkness (August 14) and La Nuit se drags (August 28).
