Pedro Barros, Kelvin Hoefler and Pamela Rosa also secured the ranking
In recent days more and more athletes have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On Friday (22), names from skateboarding were confirmed to represent Brazil in the competition: Pedro Barros, Luigi Cini, Augusto Akio, Raicca Ventura and Dora Varella ( in park mode), Kelvin Hoefler and Giovanni Vianna on the street, as well as Pâmela Rosa and Gabi Mazetto (both in street style, joining Rayssa Leal).
The Brazilians won the spot after preliminary results at the qualifying tournament in Budapest, Hungary. The competition, which will last until Sunday (23), is the last opportunity for athletes to score in the world rankings, a parameter for defining places.
To confirm their presence at the Games, skaters must be among the top 20 in the World Skate (international federation) world rankings. Brazil can classify a maximum of 12 skaters (three for each mode/genre).
The skate street in Paris will take place from July 27th to 28th, while the park mode will take place on August 6th and 7th. Making their debut in Tokyo, Brazil stood out by winning three silver medals with Rayssa Leal and Kelvin Hoefler (both in street style) and Pedro Barros in the skate park.
