Netflix announced on Tuesday (16) that a new Brazilian production has reached the top of the global ranking of the 10 most-watched non-English series in streaming. Piece of Me, starring Juliana Paes and Vladimir Brichta, is in 1st place in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico and Paraguay, in 2nd place in Italy and Portugal and in 3rd place in France.
Domestic production, what we know about Netflix’s Piece of Me:
At the tea of revelation, Liana is not excited, nor truly happy, nor does she have any kind of expectation. She already knows the answer and the surprise of this event is different: they are two boys, twins and sons of different fathers: one is her husband Tomás (Vladimir Brichta), the other is the result of something she would like to forget.
In Pedaço de Mim, Netflix’s first Brazilian melodrama series, the plot revolves around a different question: how many secrets can a mother keep?
Despite its success, the series has also gained importance in another field: the judicial one.
According to information from Notícias da TV, the Union of Artists and Technicians of Entertainment of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Sated-RJ) has filed a complaint against Netflix and the production company A Fábrica for irregularities in production.
The organization accuses the streamer and its partners of hiring unregistered cast members and unapproved contracts. The platform has yet to comment.
