Hollywood: 4.1 out of 5
what are you talking about
In post-World War II Hollywood, a group of ambitious young actors and filmmakers will stop at nothing to break into show business.
What should you know?
Hollywood is an ensemble series – understandably with a lot of characters – aimed mainly at movie buffs, as there are plenty of references. And yet, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan managed, thanks to their flamboyant style and desire to highlight minorities, to make everything beautiful (characters, costumes!) and furiously funny. Viewers particularly praised the quality of the cast, including Darren Criss, Laura Harrier and David Korenswet.
Dahmer: 4 out of 5
what are you talking about
The Journey of the Milwaukee Cannibal, one of the most notorious serial killers in the United States: from a difficult childhood to his conviction in 1992 and how police incompetence and apathy allowed him to continue his crime for several years.
What should you know?
It’s a series that made a lot of noise in 2022 (and not just for the right reasons). Along with Dahmer, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan have launched a new anthology, Monster(s), which tells the stories of America’s biggest criminals. They started hostilities with a serial killer who committed the worst atrocities. Golden Globe Award-winning Evan Peters’ performance left its mark and awakened a sick fascination with Dahmer…

How did Nurse Ratched become a monster over the years? This series aims to tell that, one kill at a timeā¦
What should you know?
This Nurse Ratched prequel to 2020’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is a real treat thanks to Sarah Paulson’s unparalleled performance. The series offers a nuanced portrait of the heroine and a snapshot of 1950s American society where lobotomy was commonplace. With a gallery of sexy or brooding characters (Ryan Murphy’s credo), Ratched has been praised by subscribers for its polished photography.
Halston: 3.9 out of 5
what are you talking about
Halston’s miniseries follows the legendary fashion designer as he creates a global fashion empire inspired by a single name: his middle name, synonymous with luxury, sex, status and the era-defining fame he lives in, 1970s and 1980s New York. . But a hostile takeover soon forces him to fight for control of his most prized possession…the Halston name itself.
What should you know?
In perhaps the most confidential of the series, Halston has invested and transformed Ewan McGregor. A biopic like Ryan Murphy likes to do a lot, shine, be LGBTQ+, have a quality aesthetic, and a story that deserves notice.
Politician: 3.8 out of 5
what are you talking about
Peyton Hobart, a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, had a premonition from the age of seven that he would one day become the President of the United States. But first, he’ll have to tackle the toughest political journey yet… to St. Sebastian’s High School. To be elected student body president, secure a place at Harvard, and maintain her status as a model student, Peyton must overcome her ruthless classmates without sacrificing her own ethics and exemplary reputation.
What should you know?
This show is absolute crap with a main character we love (played by Ben Platt) and little else “larger than life” which are very reminiscent of a lattice. With The Politician, the power trio of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan wanted to apply the same recipe, but to politics. It makes for a nice mess, with some (beautiful) musical moments in Season 2.
Observer: 3.4 out of 5
what are you talking about
A married couple moves into their dream home. Shortly after, they receive terrifyingly threatening letters from a stalker who signs himself under the pseudonym “The Watcher”.
What should you know?
Post-Dam was a bit more difficult for Murphy and Brennan, as The Watcher was by no means universally popular, despite the casting of Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavelle and its improbable but true story. According to subscribers, this is the least good series from the showrunner, who criticized it for its slow, unconvincing conclusion and also for its insufficiently researched plot.
Monsters – The Story of Lyle and Eric Menendez (? of 5)
The disturbing story of two brothers, Lyle and Eric Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents.
Season 2 of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s anthology series about the heinous criminals who have scarred our society. Season 1 follows Jeffrey Dahmer’s journey to 2022.
And it’s now available on Netflix!
