Marielle case: Delegate describes international travel and family life among those accused of murder

During the trial of former police officers Ronnie Lessa AND Elcio de Queirozaccused of the councilor’s murder Marielle Franco and your driver Anderson Gomesnew information on the relationship between the accused was revealed by the Federal Police delegate, Guilhermo Catramby.

In testimony before the IV Court of Rio, located in the center of the city, this Wednesday 30th, Catramby underlined the closeness of the former police officers, described as “friends to the point of maintaining a family life”.

According to the police chief, Lessa and Queiroz shared intimate moments after the crime, including trips and family outings. One of the episodes mentioned was a trip to the United States in 2023, where Lessa took Queiroz’s son to visit Disney.

Furthermore, the delegate reported that, after returning to Brazil, they both spent the carnival in Angra dos Reis, where they took boat trips. “He took Élcio’s son to Disney and, then, they spent the carnival in Angra dos Reis, on a boat,” Catramby said.

Lessa’s luxurious routine was also mentioned during the trial. Queiroz had previously described the ex-cop’s lifestyle, revealing that he owned a Range Rover Evoque, an armored Dodge Ram and a speedboat. Lessa still maintained two residences and tended land in Angra dos Reis, on Rio de Janeiro’s Costa Verde.

Queiroz reported that Lessa’s wealth grew significantly after the crime. “After the fact, I saw a very large increase in assets [dele]. Had the Evoque, bought an armored Dodge Ram; a new boat, he was traveling with my son, then there was the situation of his land in Angra dos Reis,” Queiroz told the court.
