The Portuguese Sports Association took an important step in its history on the night of this Thursday 14 November 2024. After 11 years spent in difficult moments in football, especially after 2013, when it was relegated to Serie A, Portuguesa intends to return competitive in years to come and to this end it took an important step: it approved the proposal for the establishment of the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF).
The club’s Deliberative Council approved the project, presented by the consortium formed by the XP Investimentos, Tauá Partners and Revee groups and accepted by the Portuguesa management. The project announced by the clubs includes investments in football, payment of debts, improvements to the Sports Center and the Canindé Stadium.
On his social networks, in a note, Portuguesa spoke about the acceptance of the project and the next steps.
– The approval represents a decisive step in the process of transforming the club’s football management. The next step will be to vote on the proposal during the General Assembly of members, which is expected to take place in the coming weeks. The decision marks a historic moment for Portuguesa, which is seeking a new management model aimed at financial sustainability and competitiveness in the national sports landscape – wrote Portuguesa, in a note on social media.
