Cinemashrek 5, with return from the original cast, is postponed to 2027

Announced in 2023, Shrek 5new chapter of the franchise started in 2001, suffered a discouraging update. According to information from VarietyUniversal and DreamWorks Animation postponed the news from December 23 from June 20 to June 30, 2027 in US theaters.

This is the second postponement of Shrek 5which was initially scheduled for July 1, 2026. With the change, the film reaches theaters just a week after Spider-Man: In addition to the spiderawaited sequence of Spider-Man: in the spider(2018) and Spider-Man: Through the spider(2023), which should generate a fierce dispute between animations.

What to expect from Shrek 5?

Shrek It was released in 2001 and tells the story of an ogre grudging -up living in a fairy tale world. The success of the film guaranteed three sequences – the last one, Shrek foreverpremiered in 2010 – and two spin-offs focused on Bootcharacter of Antonio Banderas.

Details about the plot of Shrek 5 have not yet been revealed, but we already know that we will be presented to the teenage children of Shrek and Fionawith Zendaya(Euphoria) Dubbing one of the children.

The couple is again dubbed by Mike Myers and Cameron Diazrespectively, and still wins the company of Eddie Murphywhich returns as the Dumb. New names should be announced soon. Check out the first preview of the feature:
