A meeting with the actors of the romantic comedy “Ticket to Heaven”, which leads to his definitely special collaboration with two Hollywood stars, Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
An estranged couple come together to stop their daughter from making the same mistake she did before: falling in love at first sight. Such is the case with the romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise, in theaters today, marking Julia Roberts and George Clooney’s fourth screen collaboration after Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, Confessions of a Dangerous Man and Money Monster.
On the day of the feature film’s release, AlloCiné sat down with actors Caitlin Dever and Billie Lord, actors Maxime Boutier and Lucas Bravo, and director Al Parker to discuss something we imagine is pretty special: a collaboration with two Hollywood stars. Stars of the caliber of Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
AlloCiné: What were your first impressions when you met George and Julia?
Caitlin Dever: I first met them together at a dinner held by the film’s producers before the shooting began. I couldn’t believe they were in front of me, it was a surreal moment. They were shining.
Maxim Boutier: I was with Caitlin at this dinner and had the same feeling. I thought I was in a dream. They seemed to be looking forward to meeting us and making this film. I immediately felt like family with them.
Lucas Bravo: I am at a stage in my career where being in a good movie with a good script is not enough, I have to impart all my knowledge and wisdom. So there’s nothing better than doing it with two actors who are struggling in their careers. They were receptive and wanted to learn everything from me. I believe I changed their lives. I’m joking of course! (laughs)
Ol Parker: I met Giorgi for the first time in a restaurant where I went with my wife in New York. I was not with George, but he was at another table. He came to see us and was charming with us. I remember when he left he paid our bill, I found it very gentlemanly and touching. This movie is my way of thanking him for inviting me to the restaurant.
For Julia, it was even scarier because it was a Zoom meeting. But within minutes I realized how kind and what a brilliant woman she is. It was a real pleasure to meet them.

AlloCiné: Was working with them a “ticket to heaven” or a “ticket to hell”?
Maxim Boutier: Just luck and a ticket to work with them was truly a ticket to heaven! We shot the movie on the Gold Coast in Australia and it was an amazing experience with those blue waters, those clear skies… everything was perfect. Plus, we no longer had the weight of covid restrictions, so it was truly a heavenly moment.
Ol Parker: It was certainly a ticket to heaven to make this film. Especially since Julia and Giorgi are really close friends, their participation is not “fake” in any way. What a pleasure to work with them. They love to laugh together. I remember that dance scene where they joked with each other for fun and made each other laugh. What a magical moment to see them working with such joy.
Billy Heavy: It was a ticket to heaven to work with them, they are so generous and always joking around.

AlloCiné: What is your favorite George and Julia movie?
Caitlin Dever: For George, it’s in the air, he’s so good and full of emotion in this movie. For Julia, it’s my best friend’s wedding… No, I choose Erin Brockovich, what a tour de force this movie is! He’s amazing and it’s my dream to be able to make a movie like that one day.
Maxim Boutier: Without hesitation, it is Ocean’s Eleven. It’s an all-consuming franchise and I loved them in it.
Lucas Bravo: I really love O’Brother with George Clooney. His performance reaches new heights.
Billy Heavy: My favorite Julia movie is also Erin Brockovich. She is stunning in this movie. After all these years, this is a movie that never gets old.
Ol Parker: My favorite George movie is Michael Clayton, it’s a masterpiece. I will also say Erin Brockovich about Julia, what a blast!

Directed by Al Parker with Julia Roberts and George Clooney
AlloCiné: What is a “ticket to heaven” for you?
Maxim Boutier: For me, this is a film that shows how we humans should coexist in harmony with nature. It is an environmental film that shows how we should protect the earth so that it protects us in return.
Caitlin Dever: I think this is a movie that shows how important it is to follow your heart. The time is perfect to see this movie and theaters.
Billy Heavy: This is a movie that challenges you to actually follow what your heart tells you, what you really want to do in life. without interference from society or your family.
Ol Parker: For me, this film is about my two daughters, one is 21 and the other is 17. That’s where this movie comes from, to learn how to live the way you want. And not as I want. It is also a film about the joy of laughing together, living together, and I hope that the public will laugh together at the cinema to see our film.
