In the introduction to ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which aired tonight on TF1, composer Alan Silvestri dropped a little musical easter egg for all the fans. did you notice
Broadcast tonight on TF1, Avengers: Endgame – the apotheosis of the Infinity saga and the epic conclusion to the Thanos arc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – begins in a special context for superheroes.
Indeed, after the end of Infinity War and the devastating blow of the Mad Titan’s fingers, half of the creatures that inhabited the universe were vaporized. After losing 50% of their teammates and friends, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and others plot their revenge and reconvene to decide on a plan of attack.
When they finally come to an agreement and are about to act, Captain Marvel shows up, Thor retrieves his ax, and Captain America goes into action: “We’re going to run away from this mothership”the super soldier exclaims before the film’s title appears on the screen, accompanied by the saga’s famous theme music composed by Alan Silvestri.
Always epic and brilliant, magnified by the palpable tension of the situation, Avengers Anthem still rings with a special voice. Indeed, for the occasion Alan Silvestri played the orchestra by withdrawing half of his musicians.
A clever and subtle way to make Thanos’ evil victory even sound like a movie soundtrack.
Likewise, the traditional Marvel Studios logo that we see appear moments earlier only depicts surviving characters like Tony Stark, Hulk, Black Widow or Captain America. Indeed, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord and Thanos have all been removed from the logo as well.
