The first seasons of the fantasy series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “The House of the Dragon” have ended, the first on October 14 and the second this Sunday (23). With the series debuting almost simultaneously, the did a poll, in which he asked the audience which was their favorite.
The result brought “House of the Dragon” with a comfortable advantage over “The Rings of Power”. The HBO series got 59.8% of the vote, while the production of Prime Video got 40.2% of audience preferences. Check out the survey results below:
“House of the Dragon” is the first “Game of Thrones” spin-off to arrive on HBO. The series is based on George RR Martin’s book Fire and Blood and follows the Targaryen family nearly 200 years before the events of the main series.
The main focus of the story is the rivalry within House Targaryen, which grows between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower. The two come into conflict due to the succession to the throne of King Viserys I, dividing the family into two factions: the Blacks and the Greens, who will be protagonists of the civil war known as The Dance of the Dragons.
“The Rings of Power” is an Amazon production, with the company looking to tie a major franchise to its streaming service, Prime Video. The series is expected to run for five seasons and the second is already in production in the UK, even before the first, shot in New Zealand, finished airing last Friday (14).
Despite being set in the same universe as “The Lord of the Rings”, JRR Tolkien’s book which was adapted into an award-winning and acclaimed film trilogy of the same name by Peter Jackson, the series takes place thousands of years before the main production and follows several characters, some well-known and many new, on their journey through Middle-earth.
