Roger Waters filed an injunction against Frankfurt, the city that canceled his show for alleged anti-Semitism
roger waters had a show canceled in Frankfurt due to anti-Semitism, but still plans to play in the German city. Posted on Instagram (via The globe) made last Saturday, the 15th, the former bassist of pink Floyd declared, “We’re going anyway.”
In the post, waters shared image of the tomb of Sophie Scholl – anti-Nazi activist, beheaded in 1943. He also spoke about the injunction against the city after the canceled presentation that would take place on May 28.
“Human rights matter! Free speech matters! We remember Kristallnacht! Just like Sophie Scholl, our fathers sided with the 3,000 Jews. And today, we are with the Palestinians!”, the musician declared, comparing the suffering of populations in different historical moments.
Despite stating that he will go to the city on the date of the show, waters he did not indicate where his presentation will take place, nor whether he got the legal response he wanted.
