The singer, leader of the Pato Fu group, will be interviewed by the presenter Zeca Camargo
The singer and songwriter Fernanda Takai, leader of the band from Minas Gerais Pato Fu, is the guest of the month of April at Notas Contemporâneas, a project promoted by the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), in São Paulo. The event takes place this Wednesday, April 26, with free admission.
Fernanda will participate in two actions. The first of hers will be to record her declaration for the MIS Collection, with an interview conducted by the historian Rosana Caramaschi, without the presence of the public.
In a second moment, scheduled to start at 8 pm, the singer will be interviewed by the presenter Zeca Camargo. In this phase, the public present in the MIS auditorium will be able to participate by asking Fernanda questions.
During the chat, the Gama Musical band will present versions of Pato Fu’s major hits and Fernanda Takai’s solo career. The musical direction?is signed by?pianist Yan?Montenegro.
Fernanda, who began her career 30 years ago with the group Pato Fu, has become one of the leading names in Brazilian pop. The band’s first album, Rotomusic by Liquidificapumwas released in 1993, independently.
On their second album, Gol de Quem?, released in 1995, the band gained prominence with songs About the weather AND Mommy loves my revolver. Over the years, they have achieved hits like Song to live longer, After AND lose teethplus a version for I’m a little outof the Mutants.
About 15 years ago, Fernanda successfully embarked on a solo career. Your first album, Where your eyes shineproduced by guitarist John Ulhoa, it was dedicated to the repertoire sung by Nara Leão, with songs by Chico Buarque, Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Caetano Veloso, Ary Barroso, among others.
In 2018, the singer released Tom of Takai, this time a tribute to composer Tom Jobim. With production and arrangements by Roberto Menescal and Marcos Valle, two ‘bossanovistas’, the album brings famous pieces from Jobim’s repertoire, such as Estrada do Sol and Fotografia, and other finds, including Samba Torto and Olha Pro Céu.
Fernanda’s most recent release is the album Will you believe?from 2020, with new songs.
