You Titans release the clip Dad and momsong that makes up the unreleased album iridescent eyemade available last year in commemoration of 40 years of bands. The audiovisual is now available on Youtube.
In Dad and momthe musician Sergio Britto he has a complicit look at the moment that his teenage daughter was going through and that he himself has already experienced one day: “Leave me alone / dancing with me / looking inside / for what I need // because I don’t want to live this life / that they want me to live / I don’t want to live this life / that nobody believes”.
“I made this song inspired, in part, by the difficult adolescence that I went through and that many people go through. In times of pandemic, this seemed to take on an even greater proportion. The process of growing up is often painful and lonely and sometimes leaves scars for the rest of your life. Outbursts of anger, isolation, and ultimately redemption are part of the journey. It’s nice to see how everything is there in the video so allegorically, beautifully and poetically.”comment Britto.
Second Nico Mattei, director and screenwriter of the short film, the first conversation was to take an x-ray of the feelings that the song expressed and to decide the aesthetic lines and paths that would follow. The clip has characteristics reminiscent of Manga, but with a very Brazilian artistic direction.
With a color palette that is more colorful in happy moments and more desaturated in dense moments, the aesthetics transits together with the restlessness of the protagonist.
“The quality and reading of this animation on the music is incredible. From the conception to the creation of the characters and settings, everything has been done with incredible care and accuracy”ends Britto.
