Lily Allen explains ‘glamorous’ looks after theater performances

Actress and singer, Lily Allen is part of the play ‘The Pillowman’

In addition to her already consolidated career as a singer, Lily Allen has devoted himself to acting. In The Pillowmanpiece of Martin McDonagh currently showing at the Duke of York’s Theatre, Allen plays Katurian. Her journey as an actress, however, was not the subject of a question asked by a fan in the question and answer session after the performance, last Sunday, the 13th.

He asked, “Is it a ‘thing’ to dress so nicely after the play? Do you go home and just change again?” Lily has been spotted wearing stylish, haute couture looks as she leaves the theater. She responded by explaining how it helps her break character. Sometimes, she confessed, she just feels like a ‘bitch’. The singer herself said in “Hard Out Here”: “It’s hard out here for a bitch” (“It’s hard out here for a bitch” in free translation).

“The role I play is very harrowing. It’s nice to get off stage and straight into something glamorous. It really helps me sort out what happened on stage,” he said. “Also, I’m really lucky and people send me amazing things to wear. People at the stage door get a nicer picture. Also, sometimes I’m just that ‘bitch’.”

The play is “considered one of the best of the last 25 years” and “examines the role of the artist in society by questioning the price to be paid to guarantee freedom of expression”.
