Liam Payne was rushed to hospital while on holiday in Italy with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. The 30-year-old singer had postponed his tour of Latin America due to a serious kidney infection. He will have to remain in the health unit for approximately six days.
According to information from The Sun, doctors have advised the artist “not to expect to be able to return home” anytime soon, as they have not yet found out why he is ill.
“Liam is sick, but he’s in the best place he can be and finally the doctors will be able to figure out what’s going on. Of course, he’s devastated that his and Kate’s trip to Lake Como was ruined, but at least she was there to help him when he got sick,” a source revealed.
The artist would have been one of the big names at The Town festival, which took place at the Autódromo de Interlagos (SP), but he canceled his participation weeks earlier and made way for Joss Stone at the event.

At the end of August, Liam Payne canceled his entire tour due to doctor’s recommendations to rest while he was being treated for a kidney infection. It is not yet clear how serious the artist’s illness would be.
“We started rehearsing and I was told that this might not be the best time to be on the road while I recover,” the British singer said in a video released at the time. “We will have to reschedule [a turnê].”
