The band always had additional concerns with its visual aspect, but the response may not be encouraging for those expecting complete nostalgia
O restart became famous both for his music and his visuals. The São Paulo band formed by Father Lanza (voice and bass), Fr Lu (voice and guitar), Koba (guitar and vocals) and Thomas (drums) adopted a costume with lots of colorful clothes, including pants — which, along with their generally happy sound, earned them the curious label of “happy rock” (or “happy rock”, in free translation).
In its final years of existence, between 2011 and 2013, the group already adopted a more sober costume, without such flashy colors. As a result, when the reunion was announced in 2023 — interestingly for a farewell tour — many fans questioned the look that would be adopted, even as the members were older.
In an interview with G1, Koba and Pe Lu put an end to this mystery. The guitarists revealed that the tour “For You to Remember — The Farewell” will be marked by the use of a more “mature” look. Kobainitially highlighted:
“These 8 years were important for each of us to seek individual paths. This is very rich. Each one brings new baggage. And visually we understood that each person brings their own personality.”
In turn, Fr Lu he was more direct in stating that the same clothes will not be used. The reason is simple: people have changed, so it wouldn’t make sense to repeat the costumes of other times.
Restart Aesthetics
Still during the interview, Koba pointed out that the restart He always had a different concern with his appearance. From the beginning, this issue was taken very seriously.
“We have always thought a lot about restart as a 360 project. The first time we put a website up, there was already a proposal to bring a lifestyle for people to identify with. It was something we saw people doing outside.”
