Jorge Ben Jor ends marriage after 50 years, website says

Jorge Ben Jor would break up his half-century marriage to Domingas Terezinha Inalmo de Menezes. She was one of the singer’s biggest inspirations in several areas of his career. The information was given this Friday (24/11) by the newspaper Extra.

Married since 1971, the relationship ended after the residence where they lived in Barra da Tijuca (RJ) was destroyed by a storm that hit the region in 2018. The couple had no choice and had to move to the luxury Copacabana hotel Palace, where Jorge continued to live isolated from family and friends.

In exchange, Domingas decided to live with his eldest son, Gabriel, in the United States. The physical distance would have taken on further weight at the beginning of 2020, with the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, which would have ended up forcing the separation of the couple, who had always kept their personal lives in the dark.

Jorge Ben Jor and Domingas Menezes are the parents of two sons: Gabriel Ben Menezes and Tomaso Menezes.
