Soon after becoming champion of the Club World Cupthe coach Pep Guardiola gave a press conference and evaluated the game against Fluminense. Quite impressed with his rival’s way of playing, he even revealed a joke he played with Fernando Diniz. So, the Spaniard asked how his professional partner manages to command Tricolor and also the Brazilian team.
“I asked him how he manages to train a team and a national team at the same time. I don’t know if he (Diniz) has a family or not, but I don’t know how he takes the time (laughs). It was a pleasure to meet you. I can’t even imagine if Fluminense came out ahead… Their ability to form partnerships in a short space of time is impressive. It demanded a lot of us defensively.
