Defense made by David Draiman (Disturbed) addressed, in particular, the artist’s ability to perform truly live

David Draiman Do not accept negative comments. The vocalist of Disturbedone of the most successful heavy metal bands in the last three decades, took a stance on the issue during a recent show in Peoria, Illinois, in the United States (via Blabbermouth).
In this ocasion, Draiman took two parents with their 12-year-old daughters to the stage. Happy with the presence of younger fans in the audience, he declared:
“So, I assume the fact that you guys came to the Disturbed show instead of the Taylor Swift, it means your parents are raising you on rock and roll. But hey, don’t forget: Taylor Swift It still rocks.”
Some fans reacted to David with boos. The singer not only asked for the negative demonstration to end, but also explained why Swift deserves the respect of the heavy metal audience.
“Don’t boo her. Wants to know? I will stand up and applaud any pop artist who goes on stage and sings live and plays acoustic guitar live in front of a whole group of thousands of girls and boys, young fans.”
Finally, Draiman praised the singer’s ability to perform shows without playback and with real instruments — she didn’t give up performing with the guitar in hand even after becoming a pop star.
“Don’t talk shit about Taylor Swift. She is for real. And she’s ensuring that a whole generation of new music fans understands what it means to actually play music live.”

Another well-known rock musician publicly praised Taylor Swift recently. The vocalist and guitarist of Kiss, Paul Stanley, took his wife and daughters to the artist’s show in Los Angeles, United States, in 2023. The result? He left the place impressed with what he saw.
