“In 2014/2015, I was in a bit of a depressive place in my life and was looking for inspiration. That’s when I saw a video of the Yawanawá people [no Acre] singing. I thought it was beautiful and knew I had to go there and see it. We spent 10 days together, and it was a time when I gave new meaning to many things in my life,” Alok said at a press conference.

Alok also explained that there are different values regarding the definition of culture in the music world. “While I was climbing the charts, they were creating songs with the intention of healing and advancing their spirituality. Realizing this changed me,” the DJ added.
