Sony Pictures Classics announced the release of a film about the band, but did not provide a release date.
Sony Pictures Classics announced that a documentary about the Led Zeppelin will be released in theaters. The film was initially mentioned in 2019 and was ready two years later, in 2021, with the help of band members (via Loudwire).
Becoming Led Zeppelin had a rough cut shown Venice International Film Festival later in 2021. Now, Sony Classics has confirmed that the film is “complete” and includes “a new sound mix, as well as new material unearthed from archives of all four band members”.
“We spent years designing this film to be experienced on the big screen with the best sound possible,” said the director, Bernard McMahon, in a statement. Producer and co-writer Allison McGourty added: “Sony Pictures Classics is the perfect partner because we believe in the cinematic experience and are passionate about offering millions of movie fans Led Zeppelin the opportunity to see and hear the band on the biggest screens and sound systems in the world.”
The film should show shows from 1969, as in Filmore Westat the Atlanta Pop Festival and in Texas Pop Festivalas well as interviews with Jimmy Page, Robert Plant It is John Paul Jones. Videos with John Bonhamwho died in 1980, should also appear.
The premiere date has not been announced.
